Journaling in the Berg – create your own natural history sketchbook and journal, drawing out of doors in the mountains, with studio work in the afternoons.
Botanical art course caters for beginners and experienced artists. Elsa leads morning and afternoon walks in the nearby mountains with studio work during the day. Gill and Elsa have a large library of botanical art books, as well as instructional dvds for early evening viewing.
Cavern Wild Flower Weekend - This botanical tour is a great short introduction or opportunity to enjoy the wild flowers of the Drakensberg foothills with a slide show in the evening and easy walks to explore the wild flowers and trees of the mountains.

Elsa first exhibited her botanical paintings in 1973. She was a founder member of the Botanical Artists Association of South Africa, and past chairman of the KZN branch.
She has sold her work internationally, including a portfolio of southern African palms and limited edition handmade prints in association with Caversham Press. She was awarded the Kirstenbosch Bronze Medal at the inaugural exhibition in 2000.
Over the past eight years she has run spring and autumn botanical art courses with Gillian Condy at the Cavern Berg Resort.
